In a highly competitive final on the shore of the beach at Next Door
Resort Accra, the beautiful Joycelyn Aduakye was crowned Miss West
Africa Ghana 2012 on Saturday 25th August. Joycelyn highly impressed the
judges with her charisma and amazing dancing, which was enjoyed so much
she was asked to repeat again for everyone. Despite only 2 family
members in attendance she also scooped the prize for the highest number
of votes from the audience by impressing many of the visitors which
consisted of a number of well known figures from the entertainment
industry.
Joycelyn is now the selected queen and the hope for Ghana to bring
the Miss West Africa International 2012-13 crown to the shores of the
Gold Coast, in what will be another very competitive event in December
in Sierra Leone. There is even more exciting news this year about the
Miss West Africa crown in that, with the alliance of Miss Southern
Africa, Miss Central Africa, Miss West Africa and Miss East Africa, all
their winners from this year will enter into a joint event with the
incredible prospect of becoming the long awaited Miss Africa.
Judges on the night were Atumpan, Entertainment PR consultant Makeba
Boateng, Ruth Tembe CEO of Queens Magazine, Rita of WnG hair, and Nana
Yaa Sarpong the marketing director of Multi TV. The event was presented
by well known Andy from the Brukute commercial and Twins Dont Beg. The
incredible finalists wore a series of amazing fashions all made by Quami
Wear, with beautiful hair and make up by Making Faces.
The Miss West Africa Ghana organisers have promised the audience and
judges that they will not regret their choice and are already planning
her schedule of activities as the queen to make Ghana and West Africa
proud.

Hawa Kamara is crowned Miss West Africa Sierra Leone 2012
In a close exciting contest in Freetown tonight, Hawa Kamara took the crown to become Miss West Africa Sierra Leone 2012. The student from Freetown will go and compete in Cape Verde for the Miss West Africa International, the competition where Sierra Leone won the first two years and came third in last years competition in Gambia.

Francine Vélounon crowned Miss West Africa Benin!
21 year old Francine Vélounon has just become the next Miss West Africa Benin when she ranked as 1st Runner-up at the Miss Benin competition in Cotonou tonight. She will now represent her country at next years Miss West Africa International to be held in Cape Verde alongside the 23 other competitors from around the World. Francine is a student from the Zou region of Benin, is 1.74 m tall, and will be using her time as queen to campaign on behalf of the physically disabled.

Stella helps raise breast cancer awareness for Sierra Leone charity
The amazing Stella Bangura, Miss West Africa Sierra Leone has done alot of great charity work during her reign, and in June she attended the Thinking Pink Breast Cancer Foundation fundraising gala in Freetown, where she spoke passionately about the cause and the work Thinking Pink Breast Cancer Foundation are doing.
The Thinking Pink Breast Cancer Foundation organised the fundraising and cultural gala with the theme "Building a System on Cancer" as Sierra Leone has no breast cancer or cancer facilities or units and there is a high rate of ignorance about the deadly disease.

The First Miss West Africa Queen for 2012 is.........
Nella Santos. As shown below, Nella was in a very heated Miss West Africa Sao Tome et Principe 2012 voting competition against Ivanilda. It was a competition where every night one will exceed past the other and the next night could be different. The participation of votes was so much and so rapid, with each of the girls gaining over 400 votes in a couple of days, the organisers decided to change to facebook picture likes where the participation of voters could actually be seen. At the end, Nella came out victorious with a 232 vote lead.
Thanks all those that engaged in the votes, and also Ivanilda the strong competitor who will now also represent Sao Tome in other competitions. Nella is now officially featured on the www.misswestafrica.com . She will be one out of 24 queens, scheduled to compete in the up and coming Miss West Africa International 2012. Already Miss West Africa organisers are sizing up their competition and now ensuring they get a better candidate.
Background on Nella, she is a 26 year old aspiring model, she is the organiser for Miss CPLP, also will be a judge at Miss Sao Tome et Principe UK 2012. We hope like all the other queens, the Miss West Africa crown and organisation can help Nella raise tourism and acknowledgement of West African charities where ever she goes. Battle For The 1st Miss West Africa 2012 Regional Crown
Get ready, for what you see below are not just any girls. One of these very beautiful two ladies below will be the first ever Miss West Africa Queen to be crowned this year in 2012. Both Nella and Ivanlida put themselves forward for the Miss West Africa Sao Tome et Principe crown, amongst 32 other contestants. Unfortunately some of the Sao Tome ladies who applied did not fitting the criteria, and the others were based in either UK or Portugual, and they were then instructed to participate in either Miss West Africa UK (www.misswestafrica.co.uk) or Miss West Africa Portugal (www.misswestafricaportugal.com), leaving Nella and Ivanilda to be our two main contestants for Sao Tome et Principe 2012. This year,

STP queen will be determined by public votes i which Sao Tome et Principe fans from all over the world will engage in. STP is one out of the 4 of 18 West African countries where a Miss West Africa event will not be held, leaving 14 countries in West Africa, plus 3 abroad, 17 in total to experience the Miss West Africa magical events. The winner will compete among 24 other Miss West Africa queens. And most importantly as said before, will be the first to wear the MWA crown in 2012.

Voting begins on www.facebook.com/MissWestAfricaInternational on monday the 9th, 2pm (GMT) and ends on Saturday the 15th, 8pm (GMT). You can see the outgoing queen, Marlene Fortes, on this (JULY) months calendar desktop screen saver. She served Sao Tome et Principe proud and has definitey established a Miss West Africa legacy in the small but beautiful country of Sao Tome et Principe.

Vanny Reis attends Equatorial Guinea Presidential Party

Vanny was invited by the Vice President of Equatorial Guinea to celebrate his birthday at his event on Monday 25th June. Alongside our queen was the national queen, Miss Equatorial Guinea, plus many local and international celebrities from Spain, Portugal, USA and other parts of West Africa who also attended.
During her stay Vanny was also privileged to do a presentation on her charity 'We Do Care' at the State house.

Hosni Mubarak is 'clinically dead!! (Former Egyptian President)

Egyptians take to the streets to celebrate alleged death of the former brutal regime leader Hosni Mubarak by Ustream and the Egyptian state news. The information provided by the Egypt state news. Apparantly Honsi remains in a comma on life support. Ever since the revolution, Egypt has never been at peace despite the muslim brother hood winning the first elections, there are now conflicts with the Egyptian army over new rules imposed by the Egyptian army.
Hosni Mubarak had a stroke around 10pm (GMT) and was rushed to the hospital, however, shortly after that the Egypt State news pronounced him dead. Upon the the announcement the Egyptians took to the street to celebrate.
Question: Should death be celebrated in anyway?
