More great charitable activities from Miss West Africa USA - Part 2

English: "On Saturday I volunteered at a Senior Assistant Living community home in Buckhead, GA, called Sunrise Senior Living. It is a home for assisted living for the elderly. Here, I helped about 10 seniors write a letter to the US Armed Forces deployed outside the US. I helped them write these letters by basically, writing what they wanted me to write down for our troops, because they weren't proficient enough to write. I also used that opportunity to write a letter to our troops overseas, wishing them a happy thanksgiving. After the letter, I engaged in trivia & bingo with the seniors. After which I assisted in taking about 6 seniors to the spa to get their pedicure and manicure done. Overall I spent the majority of my day on saturday with the seniors and they passed on some of their elderly wisdom to me."

Thanks Chiamaka, I'm sure the seniors especially enjoyed the time you took out to spend with them. We look forward to hearing what you'll be doing next very soon!

Francais: «Le samedi j'ai fait du bénévolat dans une maison de la communauté adjoint Senior Living à Buckhead, en Géorgie, a appelé Sunrise Senior Living. Elle est une maison pour vivre assisté pour les personnes âgées. Ici, j'ai aidé environ 10 personnes âgées d'écrire une lettre pour les Forces armées américaines déployées en dehors les Etats-Unis. je les ai aidés écrire ces lettres par principe, par écrit ce qu'ils voulaient que je écrire pour nos troupes, car elles n'étaient pas suffisamment compétent pour écrire. j'ai aussi utilisé cette occasion pour écrire une lettre à nos troupes à l'étranger, en leur souhaitant un heureux Thanksgiving. Après la lettre, je me suis engagé dans les futilités et au bingo avec les aînés. Après quoi, j'ai aidé à prendre environ 6 personnes à la station thermale pour obtenir leur pédicure et manucure fait. Globalement, j'ai passé la majorité de mes jours, le samedi avec le personnes âgées et l'on passa une partie de leur sagesse, les personnes âgées pour moi. "

English: This week was another busy, event packed few days for the great Miss West Africa USA, Chiamaka Abanofor, and she let us know earlier what she has been doing:

"Friday was a Halloween treat for children in Carrollton, GA at the University Of West Georgia. They had about 300 kids come in for candy, games and face-painting. I participated in this event, took lots of pictures with kids in costumes and also served them candy and played games with them as well. I also asked some of the kids a question for a candy treat, "name 1 country in Africa?" surprisingly majority of them answered Egypt, a few answered South Africa & Madagascar."

Francais: Cette semaine a été une autre occupée, l'événement emballé quelques jours pour Mademoiselle l'Ouest Etats-Unis Afrique, Chiamaka Abanofor, et elle nous a laissé savoir plus tôt ce qu'elle a fait:

"Vendredi a été un régal de Halloween pour les enfants à Carrollton, Géorgie à l'Université de West Georgia. Ils avaient environ 300 enfants viennent pour des bonbons, des jeux et maquillage. J'ai participé à cet événement, a pris beaucoup de photos avec des enfants en costumes et les a également servi les bonbons et joué à des jeux avec eux aussi. j'ai aussi demandé à certains des enfants une question pour un festin de bonbons, "Nom 1 pays en Afrique?" étonnamment majorité d'entre eux a répondu en Egypte, quelques réponses en Afrique du Sud et Madagascar. "

"Sexta-feira foi um deleite Halloween para as crianças em Carrollton, GA da Universidade de West Georgia. Eles tinham cerca de 300 crianças chegam para doces, jogos e pinturas faciais. Participei neste evento, tiraram muitas fotos com as crianças em trajes e também serviu-lhes doces e jogos com eles também. Pedi também algumas das crianças uma pergunta para um deleite candy ", nome de um país na África?" surpreendentemente maioria deles respondeu Egito, alguns responderam África do Sul e Madagascar. "

OK Magazine Catches Shireen Benjamin In Action

I guess as humble as Shireen is with fighting her cause for Africa every now and then she gets caught by celebrity News Papers and magazines such as OK Magazine as so did happen recently. Shreen, as well as a long list of celebrities were invited to a fundraising event called the Street Child of Sierra Leone. Shireen as well as many other managed to raise a whopping £300,000 for the people affected by the post Sierra Leone war where many were mutilated. We hope Shireen can encourage more and more people to support such causes. Make sure you pick up your copy for support, and see if you can recognise some faces.

"As Miss West Africa, and behalf of the Miss West Africa ltd international organisation, I will love to wish everyone Merry Christmas and a happy new year. I hope you all take this moment to enjoy yourselves and enjoy every fortunate aspect of your lives, but even more so please be considerate of those less fortunate than yourself whether you are in the dry season orthe cold winter season, and if it doesn't hurt, please do give a little whenever and however you can, be it a charity or struggling beggar.

Let's end this year with blessings for Africa and begin the new year with resolutions that promise a great future for the whole of Africa. In saying this I would really like to wish peace upon the people of Cote D'Ivoire and hope the true president of the Ivorian people's choice reigns, as opposed to the unwanted imposed powers. Let's all bring light to this issue and read between the lines in every story presented in the media and unite our concerns around their well being despite the language barriers. Have a great new year and Happy Holidays, and remember always stay positive and optmistic"
