Below you can watch Miss West Africa International IV (2013), which took place in March, Cape Verde, Praia. The event was exciting and ecstatic. We thank all the girls who participated, supporters, guests, judges and organizers. Especially our current queen Hawa Kamara who respresented Sierra Leone well.

Despite the results shown, she proved, has proven and continue to prove she is a passionate title holder and we salute her, as we get ready for Miss West Africa International V (2014) in Nigeria. For now, watch the amazing queens below.

As we get ready to show to you, the amazing footage and crowning of our new beautiful queen, Miss West Africa IV, Maria Sawaneh who was crowned this year in Cape Verde, March 2013. We didn't think it would be appropriate to bring you that footage without showing to our dedicated fans the footage they missed and were dieing to see footage of the 2011 event.

This might seem like just another pageant, but it is a storm and whirlwind of great memories of some of the greatest people we've met in West Africa.









The delay of the footage came when Vox Africa UK had promised to showcase the event on TV in May 2012 with their recorded footage but never did nor outline why. Nevertheless we managed to get hold of more footage due to great contacts and videographers there on the night. We did our best to bring to you a nicely documentary of the event that took place and ensure you your countries and sheroes were well represented.

Congrats to every lady that took part, and congrats to all those that organised and help organised the event to make it a success. The road to discovering our Miss West Africa International queens has not been easy, it will never be. But every now and then, these beautiful pageants and their dedication to their country and heritage makes it worthwhile.

Miss West Africa Belgium Speaks Against Critics Of The First Lady

LEUKSENEGAL.COM - The assessments on the look of the first Senegalese lady continue to go on. As we know, the dress she wore was not the most prefered in some circles of haute couture and fashion. Designers like Nabu Diagne were not easy on Marième Faye Sall especially with Barack Obama's visit to Senegal. "She dresses badly." This was the judgment against the first lady by Senegalese designer Nabu Diagne.

This opinion is not shared by the other representative of the Senegalese people, namely Thioro Diop newly crowned Miss West Africa Belgium 2013. Mercy Wins Miss West Africa UK 2012!!

At a packed Mermaid Theatre in the heart of London, the amazing Mercy Ukor succeeded Astride Costa, when in a highly competitive final she became the latest Miss West Africa Queen to be crowned when she took the prize of Miss West Africa UK 2012. She will now go onto compete in Sierra Leone in December for the Miss West Africa International crown. Look out for more news on her soon!

Stella helps raise breast cancer awareness for Sierra Leone charity

The amazing Stella Bangura, Miss West Africa Sierra Leone has done alot of great charity work during her reign, and in June she attended the Thinking Pink Breast Cancer Foundation fundraising gala in Freetown, where she spoke passionately about the cause and the work Thinking Pink Breast Cancer Foundation are doing.

The Thinking Pink Breast Cancer Foundation organised the fundraising and cultural gala with the theme "Building a System on Cancer" as Sierra Leone has no breast cancer or cancer facilities or units and there is a high rate of ignorance about the deadly disease.

Vanny Reis attends Equatorial Guinea Presidential Party

Vanny was invited by the Vice President of Equatorial Guinea to celebrate his birthday at his event on Monday 25th June. Alongside our queen was the national queen, Miss Equatorial Guinea, plus many local and international celebrities from Spain, Portugal, USA and other parts of West Africa who also attended.

During her stay Vanny was also privileged to do a presentation on her charity 'We Do Care' at the State house.



She is currently in Portugal for the Cape Verde Independence day celebrations, and you can catch her speak more about her amazing trip live on dolshradio.com on Sunday 1st July 2012 2pm EST.

Sierra Leone to Host Miss West Africa International 2012!!!

Today we bring you the fantastic news that in Freetown this afternoon it was announced that Miss West Africa International 2012 will be held in Sierra Leone on 22nd December.

The country that produced the winners of the first 2 Miss West Africa pageants is very excited to be holding the competition. The grande finale will be held by First Face International. After holding a successful press conference today with over 10 media houses present.

After the success of Miss West Africa International in The Gambia last year, we can't wait to bring the 18 Miss West Africa Queens from west Africa, plus those from the Diaspora together in what will surely prove to be the West African event of Two Thousand and Twelve!

URGENT NEWS, MUST READ!! AFRICA UNION DAY UNITES MISS EAST, CENTRAL, WEST AND SOUTHERN AFRICA PAGEANT!

English: We are glad to announce on this day, that organisers for Miss East Africa, Miss Southern Africa, Miss Central Africa and yours truly, Miss West Africa, have come together on this fabulous day of Liberation where Kwame Nkrumah formed the African Unity organisation, to bring to you a united African pageant, Miss UNITED AFRICA. We felt after all the hard work put in by all our organisation, we could united our efforts to bring attention to the various focus which all our pageants enduldge in, such as charity, tourism, business, culture and apply it on an international level.

This decision is headed by a Miss United Africa organisation, and extends the activities of all the international queens of the said pageants. The first Miss United Africa pageant will take place next year on this day and we already have attracted some of the greatest sponsors in presentation. The country will be disclosed 3 months before the event, where the world will get to meet some of the well groomed and well achieved queens of the for regions. This does not mean there will be no more Miss East, Miss Central Miss West or Miss Southern Africa, your trusted pageants will still remain, but our queens will come together for the Miss United Africa pageant. Although, none of the current queens will compete for this title as their reign will reach its end before the first edition of Miss United Africa. On Friday 27th April she was invited by West Africa Relief to open the Phoenix Resource Centre, West African Relief Eco-Aid Supply Depot, Northampton along with Louise Mensch MP.

We are looking forward to meeting all the beautiful, confident and elegant ladies, plus as our surprise guest judge, appearing along with Astride will be other pageant winners.

If you are aged 17-26, come along anytime between 10-4pm on Saturday to 1 Alfred Rd, London W2 5EU.
Wear close-fitting clothes and high-heels.
Applications for entry to the Miss West Africa UK competition - £50 payable on the day.
