As we get ready to show to you, the amazing footage and crowning of our new beautiful queen, Miss West Africa IV, Maria Sawaneh who was crowned this year in Cape Verde, March 2013. We didn't think it would be appropriate to bring you that footage without showing to our dedicated fans the footage they missed and were dieing to see footage of the 2011 event.

This might seem like just another pageant, but it is a storm and whirlwind of great memories of some of the greatest people we've met in West Africa.









The delay of the footage came when Vox Africa UK had promised to showcase the event on TV in May 2012 with their recorded footage but never did nor outline why. Nevertheless we managed to get hold of more footage due to great contacts and videographers there on the night. We did our best to bring to you a nicely documentary of the event that took place and ensure you your countries and sheroes were well represented.

Congrats to every lady that took part, and congrats to all those that organised and help organised the event to make it a success. The road to discovering our Miss West Africa International queens has not been easy, it will never be. But every now and then, these beautiful pageants and their dedication to their country and heritage makes it worthwhile.

Miss West Africa Nigeria conestants are here! Who will be Queen?!

One of these beautiful ladies will be crowned Miss West Africa Nigeria 2013 on Saturday 23rd February in front of many Nigerian celebrities such as Linxxx and many more. Also attending this prestigious event is West Africa's celebrity beauty queen Vanny Reis (Miss West Africa International 2011/12).

Vanny meets the triumphant 'Blue Sharks' on their return!!

The undoubted highlight of the African Nations Cup in South Africa has been the performances of the Cape Verde football team in their first ever tournament appearance, who after progressing magnificently to the Quarter-Finals were unluckily beaten via a controversial penalty decision and a injury time goal last Saturday. Today they returned to Praia to a heroes welcome, and amongst the dignatories to greet the Blue Sharks was our very own Miss West Africa International Queen Vanny Reis, who got a few pictures with Cape Verde's new stars.

Vanny Reis is living the life of a Cape Verdean celebrity. The young 26 year old ex model has presented many awards at Cape Verdean events, but if you think this is what makes her a top name in Cape Verde let’s recap. She lived her life as a professional and international model constantly doing run way shows around the world travelling to Angola, Guinea Bissau, Portugal, Brazil and more.

She has front covered 4 magazines, voted 2nd best Cape Verdean woman by the Cape Verde people where she come 2nd to Cesaria Evora, who passed away shortly after winning. She recently won in 2011 the Miss West Africa International 2011/12 beauty queen title at the peak of her modelling career, from there on being a regular invited guest of the Cape Verdean first lady and president to almost every major function in Cape Verde.

Ontop of that, she a vegeterian gym instructor with her own fitness classes, she is a school teacher, the host and co-planner for Elite Model Look in Cape Verde and another TV show, and manages the charity for the elderly, WE DO CARE.

Just when you think she can’t do any more, she gears up to establish a modelling agency in Cape Verde to assist aspiring models in her country. Did you just say WOW?
 

Why is Vaiss a project to watch out for and why are we interested? Over the years I participated in 2 activities in Cape Verde myself. And what I can say is Cape Verdeans pride themselves on having the most beautiful women in Africa. Like really, they don’t play with that part of their pride. For example, for example Ivory Coast pride the music and dance, Nigeria prides on the best economy in Africa, their music and movies, Ghanaians got football, Kente and a peaceful country, Cape Verde also prides themselves on having a peaceful and great tourist spot, but when it comes to the pride of their women, they do not play. And I won’t argue so much with that based on what I’ve seen.

Erica Lima is Miss West Africa Cape Verde 2012!!

Erica Lima proved to be everyones favourite in a joyful moment in Cape Verde, Mindelo. This beautiful lady proved to be the best contender and a great follow up to Vanny Reis, Miss West Africa International and former Miss West Africa Cape Verde. 1ST Runners up was Keila Ferreira and 2nd Runnrers up was Edna Lopes. Good luck to all these beauties. And Congrats to Cape Verde on a successful night.

Miss West Africa International Vanny Reis, assisted by Miss West Africa Cape Verde, Erica Lima, hosted a very successful Wedocare Benefit Dinner in the Island city of Cape Verde, Mindelo.

WeDoCare is a charity spear headed by Vanny Reis and supported by Miss West Africa ltd, that strives to give attention to the elderly sector of the Cape Verdean Society. Ever since the charity was chaired under Vanny Reis's management, it has only grown bigger and bigger. See a few images below.
