Miss West Africa UK stars on the red carpet before she flies to Cape Verde

Mercy Ukor graced the red carpet last Saturday 9th March, when she was invited to the glittering premiere at the Cafe Royal Hotel of the fashion film My Name is W - the fashion film based on designer Danish Wakeel's collection. Attended by many top fashion industry people, Miss west Africa UK, alongside her manager Bridgette Chalu had a fantastic evening at what will be her last public appearance before jetting off to Cape Verde to compete at Miss West Africa International 2013.

Miss West Africa UK 2012, Mercy Ukor was specially invited to Nigeria, a courtesy visit to Benue State Government House. The beautiful lady didn't waste time to visit many charities, and execute her God giving duties. See her organise donations to the orphanage and more. Mercy Wins Miss West Africa UK 2012!!

At a packed Mermaid Theatre in the heart of London, the amazing Mercy Ukor succeeded Astride Costa, when in a highly competitive final she became the latest Miss West Africa Queen to be crowned when she took the prize of Miss West Africa UK 2012. She will now go onto compete in Sierra Leone in December for the Miss West Africa International crown. Look out for more news on her soon!

English: Saturday 7th of April is the date for the first auditions to find the successor to Astride Costa as Miss West Africa UK!!! We are looking forward to meeting all the beautiful, confident and elegant ladies, plus as our surprise guest judge, appearing along with Astride will be other pageant winners.

If you are aged 17-26, come along anytime between 10-4pm on Saturday to 1 Alfred Rd, London W2 5EU.
Wear close-fitting clothes and high-heels.
Applications for entry to the Miss West Africa UK competition - £50 payable on the day.
Nearest tube: Royal Oak,
Buses 18 & 36 stop opposite.
Venue is right behind Westminster Academy on Harrow Road.

Astride speaks live and exclusive to Voice of Africa Radio

English: Back from her well earmed Top 10 place at the Miss West Africa International final in The Gambia just 2 weeks ago. Miss West Africa UK, Astride Costa will be on Voice of Africa Radio tomorrow, Saturday 7th January between 4-6pm, to chat with DJ Double S about her experience in The Gambia, and her activities as a queen over the last year.

Also appearing alongside her will be Miss Nigeria UK, Miss Ghana Personality, and Britains Next Top Model Season 7 contestant Yemzi Akingbade. Its sure to be a show not to be missed!
