Boko Haram Strikes Back! 11 Dead, Many More Injured!!!

Once again another church has been attacked, actually two churches. The mere fact of writing this article is even exhausting.

Gunmen, yesterday, attacked a church in Jos and Biu town in Borno State, killing five people and injuring several others. Also, this morning monday, a suicide bomber drove into the auditorium of Christ Chosen Church, along Rukuba Road in Jos North LGA, during worship hours, in a bomb-laden car which exploded, killing no fewer than 10 worshippers and over 60 critically injured. In Biu, gunmen invaded the EYN Church and opened fire on the worshippers. Many of the worshippers were said to have been killed while others received various degrees of injuries.

Apparantly, the Jama'atu Ahlis Sunnati Lidda'awati Wal Jihad also known as Boko Haram yesterday said its members were responsible for the suicide attack on a Church in Jos, Plateau State as well as the shooting of worshipers in another Church in Biu, Borno State.

Last week a nigerian lady from Mabushi, Abuja expressed her thoughts about Boko Haram to the Miss West Africa organisation via skype stating "Most of us don't believe all this that is going on, Boko Haram used to be a respectful group here. We believe what is going on is by foreign companies in order to interfere in Nigeria now that our economy is growing. How can an organisation claim it is fighting against the government for the people, yet spend half it's time killing the people. A lot of us here are muslims, we don't do this kind of stuff. It is not real at all. Even on the internet there is more information that this group is not real, because we have never seen these killers before!"

She continued further in the conversation "if you watch the news and someone translates what they say to you, you will see these guys are not even smart enough to put meaning to their objectives yet they are smart enough to out do the law and make bombs! Also let us not forget their attacks on the people only began when we were standing up against the removal of the oil subsidiary. Now with all the Boko Haram this issue has been swept under the carpet, making those who looked like enemies of the people, now look like heroes. Further more, the Court turns down Nigeria oil protest case in the Niger Delta!.....Who ever is doing this and getting these people to kill Nigerians, we are not fools if there is something going on these days then it is the people who want our oil and don't want to see us grow" (Quote copied and pasted exactly as in conversation, with a few spelling and gramma corrections)

Following her quote, The US Supreme Court on Monday 23rd April, declined to take up an appeal by 19 Nigerians seeking to invoke a US anti-torture law to sue oil giant Chevron over deaths in the Niger Delta. A spilling by Shell that ended up taking the lives of many Nigerians. This was after the Nigerian government release stories that the head figures of Boko Haram had been killed.

On behalf of this blog we can not confirm how true her statements are but it is definitely something to think about. It is a very sad incidence and may the dead victims rest in peace, most importantly we wish the best upon their families.

Nigerian Footballer Kidnapped, 150,000 euros Ransom for Christian Obodo

Family of Italian team Christian Obodo confirmed he was kidnapped today in Warri, southern Nigeria by unknown gunmen on his way to visit a friend.

Obodo was for several years a Nigeria international. Last season, he played on loan at Lecce from Serie A side Udinese. Lecce were relegated to Serie AB on May 13 after finishing third from bottom of Italy's top flight.

Obodo's brother, Kenneth Obodo, who is also a footballer in Italy and is currently in Nigeria, was quoted by Italian news agency ANSA as saying: "Christian is fine. We are in touch with the kidnappers, who want some money.

"We can't give them more than 100,000 euros ($125,000). Unfortunately these things happen in our country."

His brother-in-law, Obidike Okechukwu, was quoted by ANSA as saying that the kidnappers had asked for a ransom of 150,000 euros.

On behalf of the Miss West Africa team, we hope these cockroaches don't taint the name of the ever growing, business and tourist orientated country of Nigeria that has developed in all aspects of economic growth. Justice will be served may they receive their money or not. We wish the best for Christian Obodo.

Video: Contestant Falls On Stage @ Miss Cote D'Ivoire 2012

Currently the talk of the town amongst our Ivorian community. A beautiful ladie who had not tried out her shoes before going on stage. You can see her struggling as she tries to maintain her balance but eventually gravity catches up with her. Sorry for any embarrassment caused to the lady for promoting this clip, however we hope that all girls participating in pageant respect the extensive rehearsals the organisers arrange in order to perform at their best.

The question is unfortunately as such behaviour is not seem much amongst African men and women, this topic has gone viral and has been reposted many times and debated amongst many. New Video: Sarkodie Azonto Fiesta!! Azonto Non Stop

English:
Remember the days when all the hottest dances in the urban scene were coming from USA? The butterfly, the buggle, and more? Yes I know that's going way to far. More recently the harlem shake, the crip walk and so on? Then it shifted to the Caribean with pun da river, and signal the plane. Somewhere in between I think there was an indian dance somewhere but not big. Well anyways now, it's coming from Africa, and the most interesting thing is it doesn't seem like it will be leaving anytime soon considering African's are everywhere. Azonto which we proudly blogged about here before it even went national in Ghana, has been a hit dance and music genre for quite a while, and with African culture and music now the mainstream sound of the urban scene around the world it seems it's not going anywhere neither. Check out Sarkodie's new video Azonto Fiesta.

English:
Thousands of Israelis, including high-profile politicians, attended an anti-African demonstration in Tel Aviv. The rally turned violent, with attacks on Africans and grocery shop windows being smashed.

At least 12 black men and women were attacked by the crowd. A female who spoke up against the rally was threatened of rape. Despite these Africans being Jewish and sharing the same beliefs, the European jews united in 1000s for the expulsion of Africans from Israel.

The gathering, which took place in Tel Aviv’s Hatikva neighborhood, targeted the influx of African asylum seekers and was organized by Michael Ben Ari, a Knesset member from the National Union party, along with far-right activists Itamar Ben-Guir and Baruch Marzel, Israeli newspaper Haaretz reports.

Many protesters also blamed the government, and Benjamin Netanyahu specifically, for inaction. However, even Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, warned recently that “illegal infiltrators flooding the country” posed an existential threat to Israel itself: “If we don't stop their entry, the problem that currently stands at 60,000 could grow to 600,000 and that threatens our existence as a Jewish and democratic state,”

The problem, though, is that Israel wants to have its cake and eat it, too. Its leaders want to be part of the global economy yet act isolationist on immigration policy. Its leaders want to import cheap foreign labor but not grant immigration rights to foreign workers who have proved their worth. And based on this, African migrant are being abused.

Shortly before this, journalists and reporters had discovered that Isreali hospitals had been treating African women with pills to reduce their abilities to give birth, as seen here http://www.rt.com/news/ethiopian-jews-israel-status/ . At this stage, with no organised charity for the well being of African's in Israeli, and the lack of African government support for African's abroad, we can only wish the well being of these Africans.
