Something we can't miss whilst we are in the Gambia!




English: The ancient Wassu Stone Circles, in Gambia, are located around Wassu in the Central River Region and are believed to be burial mounds of Kings and chiefs in ancient times over 1,200 years old and has been dated to between 750-1000 AD, and because of this local legend has it that there is a curse on anyone who disturbs those laid to rest there. This may account as to why they have lasted so long with little human interference.

French: Les Cercles de pierre ancienne Wassu, en Gambie, sont situés autour Wassu dans la région de Central River et sont considérées comme des tumulus des Rois et chefs dans les temps anciens de plus de 1200 ans et a été daté entre 750 à 1000 après JC, et à cause de cette légende locale veut que il ya une malédiction sur quiconque perturbe celles prévues pour s'y reposer. Ceci peut expliquer les raisons pour lesquelles ils ont duré si longtemps avec peu d'intervention humaine.

Portuguese: Os antigos círculos de pedra Wassu, em Gâmbia, estão localizados em torno Wassu na Região Central do Rio e acredita-se ser túmulos dos reis e chefes nos tempos antigos com mais de 1.200 anos e foi datado de entre 750-1000 dC, e por causa da essa lenda local diz que há uma maldição sobre qualquer um que perturbe as previstas para descansar lá. Isto pode explicar por que motivo eles ter durado tanto tempo com pouca interferência humana.
